The SYV Children's Museum is building an outdoor Children's Museum in the Santa Ynez Valley, providing enriching outdoor play opportunities for every family in our community and beyond. We are a 501c3 nonprofit started in 2020 by local mother Ashley Jenkins, in an effort to provide more local fun family things to do in our Valley.

All exhibits will be touchable, movable, buildable and diggable, encouraging kids to use their own imagination and determination to play, move and explore the outdoors. Our initial exhibits will include a large walkable waterway shaped like a riverbed, an interactive organic garden with edible and pickable herbs, a tonka truck dig site filled with giant tractor tires, a mud kitchen, an activity zone for art, legos and more, an immersive music zone and a large fairyland with a wishing well and fairy tea house.

Thanks to a generous grant of land from the City of Buellton, we are building on the Willemsen property near River View Park and broke ground October 7th 2021. The Buellton City library will be moving right next door to us, creating a beautiful, convenient hub of family activities. We are building in partnership with the City, as they develop the entire property. While we do not currently have an opening date, you can sign up for our mailing list to keep updated about all our progress and upcoming Summer Discovery Day programs.

We are raising $350,000 in community donations in 2022/2023 to build our site and fund our first year of operating. You can help thousands of local children have a fun, enriching place to play and learn by clicking the DONATE button at the top of this page
